In 1997 Sharon won the
prestigious title of 'Artist of the Year'.
The competition was sponsored and
organised by 'Dogs Today Magazines' which is one of the worlds
largest publications dedicated to dogs.
All entrants were asked to submit a painting
of
Sally a Bearded Collie and were supplied
with several good quality photographs to work from.
With entrants from all corners of
the world, the quality
of
all the work entered was extremely high and undertaken in all
mediums including pastels and oils through to acrylic and pencil.
In the final decision it was decided by the
judges that Sharon's portrait of
Sally was the finest, most life like and
imparted more of Sally than any of the other entrant.
Since
winning the title 'Artist of the Year', Sharon's reputation has gone
from strength to strength. This has been further added to by her
receiving critical acclaim from both the UK and overseas.
With her reputation now
established, and having a global overseas customer base from far as
field as Australia and Canada. Sharon is putting all her efforts
into ensuring that the standard of her work continues to reach new
heights.
